About Geraldine..
I have always been a bit of a non-conformist, which has led me to many interesting and sometimes turbulent periods in my life. As a child I felt different due to my psychic ability, which I didn't understand at the time. Nightmares plagued me and I remember going through a dark period when I was about eleven years old; fortunately it didn't last long.
In my teenage years, when I was writing an abundance of poetry, my father would talk to me about the Greeks and Romans. This sparked my interest in Greek philosophy, comparative religion, the intuitive arts and much later the Buddhist philosophy, all of which have served me well on my journey. I have a passion for many things, including life itself!
In my late thirties and after some excellent training at the Arthur Findlay College, Essex, under the tutelage of Mavis Pittilla, I became a Qualified Medium and Speaker. Later under the wing of Gordon Higginson I trained as a tutor and was priviledged to work at the Arthur Findlay College. From 1990 I worked all over the United Kingdom demonstrating and doing workshops and lectures.
Gordon Higginson, Principle of the Arthur Findlay College and president of the SNU, was one of the greatest mediums and speakers of the twentieth century. I was fortunate to have him as a teacher and mentor, albeit only for four years before he passed away.
The brilliant Pyschic Artist Coral Polge, who often worked with Gordon, recommended me to work at the SAGB Belgrave Square. It was an honour because I took over from the indomitable Ivy Northage. I ran the class for three years until I left to live and work abroad.
Teaching gave me enormous pleasure and satisfaction. I encouraged and helped students to work on themselves as much as possible, before attempting to guide others. Some have gone on to great things and it fills me with joy that I can call many of them close friends.

Before moving to the beautiful historic coastal town of Broadstairs in 2007, I knew I was being guided to a place with strong links to Charles Dickens. Little did I know I would end up writing a book about him, and the time he spent in his favourite seaside resort. 'On the Dickens' Trail'.
Purple Granny Rides!
I am currently writing a series of children's books for young readers. Purple Granny has grey and purple spiky hair, wears purple clothes, rides a purple motorbike and sidecar, and she likes to mix it with the kids; especially her grandson Jake. She likes to do adventurous things and is full of fun and mischief!
We are launching our interactive Purple Granny website in January 2010. www.purplegranny.co.uk More info will follow!
My latest book, in the 'Living Histories Series', is 'On the Writer's Trail.' It follows the fascinating trail of the writers associated with the Isle of Thanet, from Thomas Paine to Oliver Postgate, writer and narrator of many popular children's television programmes, including Ivor the Engine, The Clangers and the timeless Bagpuss. It also includes Keats, Hans Christian Andersen, Sir John Betjeman, Dante Rossetti and more!
