Lt. Ted Peters' dream of quiet recuperation turns into a nightmare when Adrietta Bay's most beloved citizen, Dr. Jonathan Ponder is found dead at Ponder's Retreat. For reasons he can't fathom, Ted has been assigned to head up the investigation. His previous experiences with the wealthy class have left a bitter taste in his mouth and a chip on his shoulder. To make matters worse, his team resents him and cooperation is at a minimum. The only bright spot in his new situation is Margo Fraser, the local Medical Examiner. She proves to be very knowledgeable as well as beautiful. Could there be a future there?
